Reading Through the Bible  Daily Devotional Time with God

     The Holy Spirit is the One who is making us more and more like Christ. To do that, He uses Scripture and Life. Our job is to cooperate with God's grace at work in our life. Starting each day of our life with the Word of God gives the Holy Spirit more to work with in forming us to become like Christ. So, we want to read, study, memorize and pray God's Word. The Holy Spirit will use the Word of God to release and form the life of Christ in us. This is how we "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord."-2 Peter 3:18 
     Slowly and thoughtfully read the passage from God's Word each day. Read it several times. Think about it. Focus especially and meditate on the highlighted verse. Then, say and repeat the memory verse several times. By the end of the week, you will have it memorized. Finally, in addition to whatever else you are talking to God about in your prayers each day, also pray through the Scripture you read, turning it into a prayer.
