So you've seen our ad, you've clicked on the link. That means we've got your attention, it also means that you are trying to figure out what Church of the Open Door is about! We trust that God will lead in this process as we seek for this full time team member.

Here is an expanded statement about what kind of person we are looking for:

We are seeking to add an experienced Director or Pastor of Children's Ministry to our ministry team to engage with us in leading people in the adventure of becoming like Christ! He or she will have a minimum of five years large-church children's ministry experience, and will be a visionary, team-oriented leader who is passionate about creating exciting and creative environments where kids join this adventure too. This person will be a gifted communicator who speaks "kid" with love and grace, and has a heart for shepherding parents as well. He or she will be committed to saturating our church body with a love for and commitment to the next generation.

Our next Director of Children's Ministry will have an established track record of 1) effective recruiting, training, motivating, and developing teams of volunteers including systems development; 2) development and implementation of creative, exciting, and relevant children's ministry programs and environments; 3) translating the broader church mission into the language of our next generation; 4) providing a safe and secure environment where children are free to grow in loving God, loving people, and living surrendered; and 5) engaging and cooperating with a large church staff in the development and execution of an all-church mission.
