Background information:

I was born in Fort Wayne Indiana and grew up in the small town of Matthews Indiana near Upland where I received my bachelor’s degree from Taylor University in 1967. Linda and I met at Taylor during new student week as freshmen and began to date. After graduation we were married at church of the Open Door, Linda’s home church, and settled in Elyria. I immediately began to direct the choir and lead the singing on a part-time basis until the church could hire someone to replace the music pastor that had just left to take another position. I was teaching school in Elyria at the time. After six years it became apparent that God was leading me to join the pastoral staff. I have served as worship and music pastor and later as shepherding pastor at this church for forty three years.
