Dick Schlegelmilch, Maintenance Job Description: Working in the Maintenance Department, I serve in a variety of ways maintaining the building for the church and the school. It is an honor to work with and for people and it is my desire and goal to lift up the name of Jesus in everything I say and do. Describe your family: I am married to a wonderful wife, Alicia. We just celebrated our 47th Anniversary in March 2009. We have been blessed with a daughter, Cary and a son, Rich, and they have blessed us with four grandsons; DJ, Benjamin, Isaac and Caleb. DJ has blessed us with one great grandson, Ethan. DJ is 29 and Benjamin will be five in June, and Isaac and Caleb (twins) were two this past November and Ethan was two in August. The kids live in Washington, (Seattle), CA and LA. We don’t get to see them very often, but enjoy talking with them on the phone. Background information: I was born in Norwalk, Ohio and raised in a Lutheran Church. My parents were custodians of the church and it was part of my job to help out with the cleaning. Alicia says I was born cleaning church. I did this as a part-time job until long after I was married then I worked in a church in Columbus for nine years. I have worked here for ten years. I also worked as an Office Supply Salesman, Radio Station (advertisement) Salesman and Supervisor at Glidden Paint Plant in Huron. I was active in the youth group in church, went to Capital University for 1 ½ years, sang in the choir for several years and was in the school play called “The Little Dog Laughed”. I also played and sang solo as Ananias in an Easter Cantata. The Lord found me and I Him in February 1974. What a day of rejoicing that was! |
